Why Are Clermont's Best Girl Soccer Players Leaving Town

The Answer Is Right Here. So, Why Are You Still Looking?

A direct message to every talented female soccer player in Clermont considering leaving home.

Let's cut to it. You're good. You know it. Your coaches know it. And somewhere along the way, someone told you that being good means you have to leave Clermont to prove it.

They're wrong.

The championship infrastructure you're searching for isn’t an hour down the road? It's already been built right here — and now it's getting stronger. Clermont FC and Montverde International Futbol Club aren't competing for your future. They're joining forces to build it. Together, these two organizations represent something rare in youth soccer: a genuine local pathway from development to elite competition, without ever asking you to leave your community behind to find it.

And the results of what this community produces? They speak for themselves.

This year, South Lake High School captured the FHSAA Class 6A, District 4 Championship and placed second in Region 1, with Clermont FC players on that roster. In 2022, East Ridge High School won the FHSAA 6A State Championship outright. Many of those players went on to compete for Clermont FC's U17 Boys team, which then won the FYSA Presidents Cup and finished third in the US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup. A state title to a national podium. Built locally. Developed locally. Won locally.

The girls' side of this story is just as compelling. In 2021, the East Ridge High Girls Soccer team captured the FHSAA Class 6A, District 4 Championship and placed second in Region 1, with Clermont FC players on that roster. Clermont FC's U15 Girls teams won back-to-back FYSA State Cup Championships in 2016 and 2017, then finished second in the US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup both years. That's not a fluke. That's a program.

So here's the direct question: what exactly are you driving an hour away to find?

The talent pipeline is here. The coaching is here. The high school championship pedigree is here. And now, with Montverde International Futbol Club aligned alongside Clermont FC, the competitive training environment you think only exists somewhere else is here too.

Clermont is not a stopover. It is not a stepping stone to somewhere better. It is a city that has produced state champions, regional finalists, and nationally competitive teams — on both sides of the ball. The players who built those rosters made a choice: to invest in this place, train with players who push them every single day, and win together.

That next championship roster is being assembled right now. The only question left is whether you'll be on it — or whether you'll be watching it from somewhere else, wishing you had stayed.

Stay in Clermont. Play for Clermont FC. Train with Montverde International Futbol Club. The championship you're chasing isn't an hour away.

It's right here.
